80 Beaverton-Pefferlaw is a former GO Transit bus route in Ontario, Canada.

The route serves to connect the community of Beaverton in Brock to the community of Pefferlaw in Georgina.

OverviewEdit

The 80 Beaverton-Pefferlaw route connects the community of Beaverton at Simcoe Street and Mara Road in Brock to the community of Pefferlaw at Pefferlaw Road and Station Road in Georgina, making a stop at the community of Port Bolster at Lakeridge Road and Highway 48.

HistoryEdit

The former GO Transit bus route 69 Sutton-Newmarket provided service between Newmarket and Beaverton. It was discontinued on September 2, 2012 with bus service between Newmarket and Pefferlaw taken over by York Region Transit's route 50 Queensway. Route 80 was introduced to maintain bus service between the communities of Beaverton and Pefferlaw, along with route 67 Keswick-North York, providing an express service from the Georgina community of Keswick and Aurora to Finch Bus Terminal in the Toronto district of North York. A new 65F branch of the route 65 Newmarket-Toronto was also introduced, providing direct service from East Gwillimbury GO Station to the Union Station Bus Terminal in downtown Toronto.

On June 29, route 80 was discontinued with the introduction of York Region Transit's 50B branch of the 50 Queensway route, giving YRT full responsibility of bus service between Newmarket and Beaverton. This marks the first YRT route and the first route of a local transit agency that is not Durham Region Transit operating within Durham Region.
